Kingdom of the Isles – The Plan Room
The Plan Room is the strategic heart of the Kingdom of the Isles, a place where the Archduke and his closest advisors decide the fate of the realm. Within its walls, plans for expansion are drawn, whaling operations are coordinated, and the resources that sustain the kingdom are carefully controlled.
Maps, reports, and documents cover the great table at the center of the room, tracing the reach of the Archduke’s authority across the islands. Here, the kingdom’s future is reduced to territories, routes, and decisions made far from the people they affect.
Among the matters discussed within the Plan Room is the fate of the Incubators: fertile women confined and valued only for their ability to bear children. Their lives are governed by a system that treats them as a resource, hidden behind the language of duty and purity.
The Archduke must also maintain his relationship with the monastery and the High Priest. The priests and nuns hold considerable influence over the kingdom, serving not only as religious figures but also as alchemists, physicians, and scholars. Their knowledge of chemistry, botany, and medicine makes them indispensable to the realm and its rulers.
Above all, the Plan Room serves as the center of the Archduke’s response to the growing rebellion. The rebels oppose the kingdom’s injustices, from the exploitation of whales and the mistreatment of the Incubators to the pollution and military oppression suffered by its people. To the Archduke, their movement threatens the order he has built; to others, it offers a chance for change.
Dark wood, imposing architecture, and a monumental red banner reflect the power concentrated within the room. Yet the armed guards and the tension surrounding the central table suggest that even here, at the heart of the kingdom, that power is far from secure.
